FAQ
Why are you doing this?
The reason I have initiated “The Million Pound List” is because I have a very unique business idea, however I can’t pursue it because I cannot afford the start-up costs. I have approached banks for loans and got nowhere, and since jobs are few and far between, I thought it would be a much better idea to raise money in a creative way that benefits businesses which may well be struggling at the moment, just as I am!
How long will the website be online for?
I guarantee to keep this website online for a minimum of five years and, in so doing, give you at least five years exposure for as little as £1, however I have every intention of keeping it online for 10 times that, if not more.
Where did you get the Idea from?
It started off as two completely separate thoughts.
The first was that I knew people often purchase silly things over the internet, e.g. used deodorant cans and plastics bags, so I thought perhaps people would contribute to a website that was trying to raise one million pounds.
The other came to me when I was looking at the start-up costs for the business I want to set up. I realised that it would not be possible for me to do it without a large sum of finance behind me, so I looked into ways of raising money, and ways to prove that you don’t have to have millions behind you to be able to market an idea on a national scale.
When I put the two together, I came up with this.
What happens if I want to donate a sum of money that has already been given?
You go onto the list below the first person to donate that sum of money, so the sooner you donate, the higher up you will be.
What happens if I want to contribute more than once?
You can choose to either have your details next to two figures (your first donation and then your second and so on), or to total your contributions together to get you higher up the list.
How did you build a website if you are starting the business with zero costs?
The website cost nothing build as I used free software to make it.
How much money are you trying to raise?
As the name suggests, one million is the target, however, if I reach this successfully, and people still want to be a part of the project, they may still contribute.
